Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced the extension of lockdown until May 3. He said extension is necessary to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.
Modi said implementation of the lockdown will be strictly ensured – while detailed guidelines on the implementation of the new guidelines will follow.
Some relaxations may be allowed at places which are free from the spread of disease post April 20.
Modi said country has dealt with the situation extremely well considering limited resources.
